@tg4466 you need to configure the new controllers. Luckily it’s easy. Plug the original controller in at the same time with the new ones and press start on emulationstations main menu. You will see configure controllers. Hold down a button on one of the new controllers and follow the prompts on what button to configure. Now you can use the new controllers.

@mitu said in Nintendo switch wired controller help!:

@treebo88 Try updating to the latest firmware and send an email to the vendor asking for some hints on how to choose the connection mode - who knows ?

I did exactly that but no firmware is available yet, I have sent a nice email to them however I doubt I'll get much help as it's being used for something it wasn't intended so possible I'll get either nothing back or very little help on the matter. Worth a try though, I don't want to buy any more lol

I bought several Ps3 wireless generic controllers that had USB dongles but using one seemed to be OK but soon as two were connected it didn't like it... They both keep loosing connection.. Only for a few seconds a time but enough to make them unusable lol

Can you add more info about your setup, as requested in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first ?
I assume that by Xbox 360 you mean a controller for Xbox 360 - is it an original controller or a compatible one ? Do you know the make/model ?

Dolphin bar help setup. controller setup

I recently installed a dolphin bar and wi-mote and cannot get it to work in combination with Name lightgun games. The bar is seen by the PI as well as my 2 joysticks and a keyboard. It seems that I can use the "Dpad" on the Wii mote and will move the target sight within the games, however i cannot get the pointer to move when moving the remote.

I have the dolphin bar set on mode 1 and the wii has two lights side-by-side on them and have tried different modes to try and get it working. I also changed the mouse input index on player 3 and player 4, to "0" and "1" they were all set to zero previous. These are the 2 inputs that i have both the wi-mote and keyboard, i did this within the retoarch.cfg file (not sure that's the correct file for Mame).

any help is appreciated on this subject, seems to me that there is a conflict between the keyboard and mouse being on the same index, however when I change them to "0" and "1" i seem to get the same result, to be able to only use the Dpad. all the other buttons seem to respond. thanks for all the help once again.

@nugent Please add more info about your system, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

I remember a few posts back regarding the initialization - in RetroArch - of such controllers (see this issue for instance).

Try installing the xpadneo driver - github.com/atar-axis/xpadneo - and see if it makes a difference.

@Wolf64 As I mentioned in my previous post, I am not familiar with lr-stella. I've never used it. That is why I asked in my post, "are all these mappable to a controller in lr-stella?"

I only use the standalone version.

For sure the keyboard works in the standalone version because I do it all the time.

I've never attempted to map these functions to a controller button in the standalone version. I've no reason to try this as I only use real Atari joysticks, paddles, driving controller, etc.

I don't have a different controller to test the standalone version for you, sorry.

Maybe the developers here that modded Stella for RetroPie can chime in and confirm for you.

@Honda-Z50M I don't think you're gonna get much help here now, now that the site knows you're using a third party image.

@BJRetro, That would be great, I've played around in Emulation Station and RetroArch and have not figured that part out. I'd love to map an exit game, restart game, save state and load state button. The hot key works great but since the button kit I got has the extra buttons I'd love to use them. I also got it so that the hot key + exit, restart, save, load works but would be great if a press without the hot key worked.

So I got it to work. (In ES input) After I choose X as left shoulder and Z and right shoulder, I then had to assign the left and right bumpers on the controller as left trigger and right trigger. Before I was skipping these on the controller due to them being assigned to X and Z. All working fine now :)

      I have a similar issue:
Having 2 PS 3 controllers, yesterday I performed sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get dist-upgrade.
After that, the controllers still paired, however auto-logon failed.
Then I chose to update all packages from the Retropie setup.
After that I rebooted, and then the controllers didn't pair anymore.

I will roll back to my last image, anyway I think some mess was being built into the latest update components. Obviously I'm not the only one having logon and controller pairing issues after the recent updates...

So what you are saying is that I need to hookup the buttons on each controller so that they are the same value. IE button 1 for each controller is ''A''. I never had this problem before but will just rewire my board to make sure they match.

      Thanks for the help

@AJ2425 said in Some buttons not responding during PS controller configuration:

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe this points to it being a controller issue.

Well, if the controller works with your PS2, then it's an adapter issue - you might want to get that checked - or try it also on a PC.
